England Announce Preliminary Euro Squad, Snub Big Names

England coach Gareth Southgate has announced his 33-man preliminary squad for the upcoming 2024 European Championship.

England , who are among the tournament favourites, face Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia in Group C.

Southgate has a host of exciting talents and experienced players available, with the likes of Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane leading the selection.

Meanwhile, several big names have missed out, including Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford as well as Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling, and on-loan Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Former England captain Jordan Henderson also misses out after his failed move to Saudi Arabia, while Chelsea duo Reece James and Ben Chilwell as well as Arsenal’s Ben White were also snubbed.

However, United midfield sensation Kobbie Mainoo and Cystal Palace’s Adam Wharton are among the new faces in the squad.

Southgate will still need to cut down his selection to 26 names ahead of the 7 June deadline.
