Seven Players Cut From England Squad

England coach Gareth Southgate has cut seven players from his 2024 UEFA European Championship squad, including Jack Grealish and James Maddison.

Southgate had initially announced a 33-man preliminary squad, and still had to cut seven names.

He already made some tough calls in his initial selection, leaving out the likes of Marcus Rashford, Reece James, Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho.

On Thursday, Southgate cut seven more players, including Manchester City star Grealish and Tottenham Hotspur’s Maddison.

In addition, Manchester United defender Harry Maguire was also among the names that were cut.

The other players dropped were:

  • James Trafford
  • Jarrad Branthwaite
  • Jarell Quansah,
  • Curtis Jones
