Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Rodney Ramagalela has sent words of encouragement to Orlando Pirates striker Yanela Mbuthuma.

Ramagalela has applauded Mbuthuma after going through a rough patch in his football career. Mbuthuma has bounced back very well scoring three goals in the last four matches for Pirates which earned him a Bafana Bafana call-up for the AFCON qualifiers.

The 24-year-old announced himself to Bafana Bafana by laying an assist to Samukele Kabini for the winning goal against Guinea at Orlando Amstel Arena.

Ramagalela who once won Betway Premiership golden boot sharing with Percy Tau in 2018 advised Mbuthuma to remain calm and continue working hard.

“Up to now he has done well as a striker after so many words, booing and everything,” Rama G told iDiski Times.

“He comes back in a league game and scores a goal, and that shows character. My words are that he must continue working hard because that is what earns him a spot in the starting lineup.

“And the reward to the coach is to just make sure he continues to work hard.

“Whenever he gets a chance stay calm and make sure that you put the ball in the net.”
