Meanwhile, UJ bagged maximum points as they defeated TUT 4-2 at the UJ Stadium in Soweto.
Lusanda Mavundla opened the scoring for the home side, but the visitors levelled matters through Sibongile Ntoane. Player of the match Portia Masilela extended the Orange Army’s lead from the penalty spot after Mpho Dlamini was fouled in the box.
Asanda Mchunu netted UJ’s third goal with Kutlwano Maphane scoring the winner. Nombuso Malesa netted a consolation late on but any chance of TUT pulling a comeback failed to materialize.
The result sees UJ in third position in the Super Rise stream with 17 points in 10 matches, five points from pool leaders JVW FC.
The Red Army on the other hand are now placed third from bottom equal on 11 points with Ezemvelo Women’s FC right behind them both from 10 outings.
