Golden Arrows attacking midfielder Nhlanhla Zwane has credited the quality within the squad for his impressive rise, which has seen him emerge as one of the standout players in the league.
Zwane began attracting attention last season after a strong run of form saw him become one of Abafana Bes’thende’s key players.
He has carried that momentum into the current campaign, stepping up as a reliable figure following the departure of Siyanda Ndlovu, who had been an important player for the team.
Having been at Arrows since the 2023/24 season, Zwane feels players around him have pushed him to raise his game to another level.
“It’s the competition in our team, it’s very high,” said Zwane, when asked by iDiski Times.
“I believe we have a strong squad, for me to be at the level where I am, it’s because of the guys, they sharpen me to pick up myself and keep of working hard.”
The 26-year-old maintains that the attention he has attracted through his performances has not put him under pressure, insisting he remains focused on his game.
“One thing about me, I’m not someone who’s focused on social media,” he added.
“So, when it comes to [attention] outside, I’m not focused on it, I focus on what I see, what’s here.”
Zwane was among the scorers as Arrows crushed Chippa United 4-0 to seal a quarterfinal berth in the Carling Knockout Cup on Saturday.
