Durban City sealed progress into the CAF Confederation Cup group stages after a commanding 3-0 win at AS Port-Louis 2000 for a 6-1 aggregate victory on Sunday afternoon.
It’s history edged into the club’s books as they make their debut appearance in continental football just two seasons into topflight after their Nedbank Cup success last season..
Just like in the first leg, Gaston Sirino got on the scoresheet in the 12th minute followed by Haashim Domingo’s second in the 25th minute.
City entered the encounter after eliminating Burundi’s Rukinzo in the first round, while Port Louis secured their place in the next stage after knocking out Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy.
Substitute Ethan Brooks made it 3-0 in the 52nd minute after coming on for Sirino at the resumption of the second half.
Eric Tinkler’s charges cruised to the thumping win and will now wait in the coming days to see who they will be pitted against in the group stages.
