Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows have announced their respective starting line-ups for tonight’s Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
This is a third meeting between the sides this season with the Brazilians having dominated proceedings. Sundowns eliminated Abafana Bes’thende from the MTN8 over an entertaining two-legged affair and also won the Betway Premiership game away in Durban in September.
Miguel Cardoso’s side have also won a domestic trophy (MTN8) this season and will look to stay on course to compete for the league cup as well.
Arrows on the other hand under a new coach Mandla Ncikazi, who has won the tournament as assistant coach at former side Orlando Pirates, the Abafana Bes’thende tactician will hope for an upset win.
The sides are coming into the game with contrasting forms with the hosts on a five-match unbeaten run in the league where they scored 14 goals and conceded four.
The visitors have only managed two draws in that period in the league where they managed to score two and concede five goals.
