Newly-appointed Golden Arrows coach Mandla Ncikazi has admitted that his team’s lack of a clinical edge in the final third is his primary concern ahead of their tricky clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The two sides face off in the Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinals at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday evening, with kick-off set for 7 PM.

This will be Ncikazi’s second match on the bench since arriving from Orlando Pirates over the past two weeks.

Abafana Bes’thende head into the midweek fixture looking to bounce back from a narrow 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu in the Betway Premiership on Saturday.

Addressing the media, Ncikazi highlighted that his side needs to show more creativity and sharpness inside the opposition’s box if they are to trouble the defending champions.

“We have another game on Tuesday [against Sundowns],” said Ncikazi.

“So, we want to train certain aspects, but we are playing games. But that’s the responsibility of a coach. We must find a way.

“But I’m just concerned about us in the attacking third. I’m concerned about us being so less creative in the opponents’ half, scoring so much less goals.

“But I also saw with my eyes today [on Saturday against AmaZulu], first half, why we are where we are.”
