Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has admitted that he was unhappy with certain aspects of his team’s performance despite securing a place in the Carling Knockout Cup semifinals.

The Buccaneers booked their spot in the last four with a narrow 1-0 win over Babina Noko at Orlando Amstel Arena, with Mpho Padime scoring the decisive goal in the first half.

Speaking after the encounter, Ouaddou expressed his disappointment with the manner of the victory.

He pointed out that his side failed to control the match as expected and gave the ball away too cheaply on several occasions.

“We will have to work the control because everything was not perfect,” said Ouaddou on SuperSport TV.

“Yes, I’m happy to go to the semi-final, but not like that. We have to improve.

“I’d like to have more control, we are panicking sometimes for nothing,” he added.

“We are losing cheap balls in the heart of the game. We have the opportunity to kill the game. We kick the ball in the stand; we still have a lot of work.”

Pirates are now awaiting the outcome of Sunday’s Carling Knockout Cup semifinal draw, which will determine their opponents in the last four.
