Al Ahly have officially released one of their forward after he fell down the pecking order following Percy Tau and Luis Miquissone’s arrival.
The Club of the Century announced the departure of Junior Ajayi, who had been with the club since 2016.
The Nigeria forward made 161 appearances for Ahly and lifted 11 trophies but had fallen down the pecking order after some injuries.
“Amir Tawfik, head of the club’s marketing and transfers departments, announced the termination of Junior Ajayi’s contract by mutual consent on Thursday.
“Tawfik added that after consulting Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, the club parted ways with Ajayi, the Nigerian forward.”
He made 26 appearances under coach Pitso Mosimane, scoring three goals, while overall he has netted 41 times and assisted a further 30 more.
