The Premier Soccer League have announced the monthly award winners for December, namely Andile Jali, Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
December was a very busy month for most PSL sides, with seven games taking place in the period before the current season break.
The standout player during this period was Andile Jali, who cemented his place in the Mamelodi Sundowns starting XI and impressed for Masandawana before the turn of the year.
The judgement panel commented: “Jali was outstanding in December. He was a marvel to watch as he bossed the Sundowns’ midfield. His experience has been invaluable during a loaded period in December. The manner in which he broke down opponents’ attacks and in turn start build-ups to Sundowns attacks, which on some occasions led to goals, has been very impressive”.
With Sundowns collecting 14 out of a possible 21 points, losing just once, coaching duo Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi once again defended their Coach of the Month title.
The duo have now won the award thrice this season already, collecting it in August/September, October/November and now for a third time.
