Kaizer Chiefs aspiring midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has given credit to his teammates after winning the Goal of the Month award for December.
Ngcobo has been awarded with the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month award for his strike in their 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United in the league.
The Amakhosi star has scored the beautiful goal in what was his eighth appearance for the Phefeni Boys this season and overall he has netted twice with one assist this season so far.
“The goal against Sekhukhune, I think it was a good goal, but I think we created the goal as a team,” he told club’s media department.
“The way we shifted the ball, we circulated the ball, and it was very good and with Njabulo Blom finding me in the half spaces, and I was able to turn and finish.
“So I think I was just there to finish, but it was a worked goal by the whole team.”
The 22-year-old midfielder also says they are looking forward to competing for the number one spot on the log when the Premiership campaign resumes in February.
“I think we closed the 2021 calendar on the high as a team. We were working very hard, we were playing for one another, we were helping one another,” he added.
“We performed well as a team, and we are looking forward to keeping the same tempo and the same attitude.
“Going forward to the rest of the season, we want to work as a team, we want to fight and make sure we win more games.
“We just want to keep going and making sure that we win more games so that we can get closer to number one, we just have to work hard.”
