Mamelodi Sundowns have finally announced the signature of their new South American star, Erwin Saavedra.
The 25-year-old midfielder left his boyhood club Bolivar after coming through the club’s youth ranks and making his first-team debut in 2014.
The deal is understood to be worth around R18.5 million and the Bolivia international put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Masandawana, who announced his signing on Wednesday.
He leaves Bolivar after making almost 300 games during which he scored over 50 goals for the club.
He has also represented Bolivia 35 times, scoring four goals, including two at last year’s Copa America.
