The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final ties have been confirmed with two mouth-watering ties set for this week ahead.
Senegal booked their place in the last-four with a convincing 3-1 win over the plucky Equatorial Guinea side that knocked out Algeria and Mali en route to the last-eight tie on Sunday evening.
Goals from Famara Diedhiou, Cheikhou Kouyaté and Ismaïla Sarr was enough to make sure Jannick Buyla’s surprise second-half equaliser was nothing more than a consolation.
The Lions of Teranga will now face Burkina Faso who ousted North African giants and 2004 champions Tunisia – who has subsequently sacked their head coach Mondher Kebaier for his failure.
Meanwhile hosts Cameroon who strolled past tournament debutants The Gambia, have a tie with Mohamed Salah’s Egypt who will be looking to cement his legacy in African football with a nations cup title.
They beat Morocco in a heated North African derby, with the Liverpool superstar bagging a goal and an assist in the 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.
