Mike Makaab has revealed what his client Sipho Mbule wants amid rumours linking him with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Amakhosi throughout the January transfer window but SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews slammed the door shut on a potential move, last week.
Matthews stated that Mbule needs to improve his conduct at the club before he will be allowed to leave, with Makaab confirming he spoke to Matthews about his comments.
Makaab also explained that Mbule would like to move to take the next step in his career.
“His desire is to make a move to further his career,” he said on Gagasi FM.
“He wants a move but he’s prepared to role his sleeves up and work his socks off for the next part of the season.
“He understands that he’s going to have to really work hard and show those people that have faith in him that he’s going to be the next big thing in South African football.
“I’m absolutely confident that we’re going to see a Sipho Mbule in the next three to four months that is going to set this league alight and it wouldn’t surprise me if we wouldn’t open the doors in Europe for him.”
Makaab had stated that Mamelodi Sundowns are the only club that have made an official offer to SuperSport United but there have been talks with Chiefs as well.
“I know that there have been discussions, that I do know,” he explained.
“But I’m not involved in those discussions because I don’t want to be influential in a club-to-club deal. My interest lies with my clients, and in this case it’s Sipho Mbule.”
