Official: Pirates’ CAFCC Opponents Confirmed

Orlando Pirates have learnt their CAF Confederations Cup opponents during Tuesday’s draw in Cairo.

The Buccaneers qualified as leaders from Group B, meaning they couldn’t be drawn against Al-Ittihad, who finished second in their group.

As one of the seeded teams, Pirates could only be drawn against Al Masry, Pyramids or Simba and did receive the latter.

Simba qualified from second spot in Group D, collecting 10 points – as many as RSB Berkane who topped the group based on the better head-to-head record.

The Tanzanian side faced Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Champions League last season, losing 4-0 in South Africa before beating Amakhosi 3-0 at home. 

As group winner, Pirates will play the first leg away from home and the second leg in South Africa.

Q1: Simba vs Orlando Pirates

Q2: Al-Ittihad vs Ahli Tripoli

Q3: Pyramids vs TP Mazembe

Q4: Al Masry vs RS Berkane

The draw for the semi-finals also took place, with the winner between Simba and Pirates facing the winner of the quarter-final between Al-Ittihad, who came in second in the Buccaneers’ group, and Ahli Tripoli.
