Mike Makaab has confirmed he will be travelling to Gauteng to meet Kaizer Chiefs and provided a positive update on the future of SuperSport United midfielder Sipho Mbule.
The prominent South African agent is set to sit down with Chiefs this week with two of his clients, Bernard Parker and Kearyn Baccus’ contracts expiring in July.
He previously confirmed to iDIski Times that both players have yet to receive feedback on whether their deals will be extended, with Baccus said to be attracting interest elsewhere in the PSL and Asia.
However, there’s also been speculation the Chiefs are after another of his clients Kobamelo Kodisang.
“We’ve had a very brief discussion with Bobby and Kaizer Jnr and I’m probably going to make my way to Johannesburg [to discuss my players’ futures],” he said on Gagasi FM before confirming he will be meeting the Matsatsansa CEO.
“I’m spending a few days there because we’ve got some very important meetings, I’ve set up a meeting with stan Matthews regarding the future of Sipho Mbule.
“I’m not 100% sure where we start but one thing I can tell you about those who are concerned about Sipho; we have him in a special program – both with a sports psychologist and with a physical trainer.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that come pre-season, Sipho will be ready to fight for a place in his new team. He’s certainly not going to be sitting in the stands for two years.”
