Marumo Gallants coach Dan Malesela has reacted to his side’s comfortable win over Santos FC in the Nedbank Cup last 32.
Bahlabane Ba Ntwa beat the ABC Motsepe League side’ Santos 2-0 on Sunday night and were in control of the game for most parts of the 90 minutes.
Malesela saw his side progress to the round of 16 after a brace by Junior Dion, and was pleased with the win, but felt they could have added more goals.
“Yeah, look, I don’t know where the minds of our players were at, maybe because of the division Santos is at, probably played a role,” he said after the match.
“But also to give credit to Santos as well, we made life difficult, you know when somebody sits, and they are doing it well, it’s almost difficult, but we made life difficult for ourselves.
“When we could have just opened up a bit of chances early in the game, then they would have most likely opened up for us,, but they probably played not to loss by a big margin.
“We are happy, 2-0 it’s fine for us, it’s right for us, we go to the next round irrespective.”
The defending champions will learn their next round’s opponents on Monday at 18:00.
