Pitso Sends Message To Al Ahly Fans

Pitso Mosimane has shared a message with Al Ahly fans ahead of Monday’s CAF Champions League final at the home ground of their opponents Wydad Athletic Club.

The reigning champions could lift their third successive title, which would further cement Mosimane’s name in the CAF history books as no other coach has managed to win three consecutive CAFCL titles.

However, Al Ahly’s task was made even harder after CAF announced the final will be hosted in Morocco at the Stade Mohamed V, Wydad’s home ground.

“My message to Al Ahly fans, is as much as it is difficult for them to travel to Morocco to support the team, unlike Wydad [fans] they just walk to the stadium, they must try, they must support,” he said via a video message.

“Economically it’s not easy for a football fan to spend money on travel like that and also, you must also understand there is VISA issues and all that, it’s not easy for them.

“But we say, those who come, we have support from them and we have support from home. We will make them proud, we will do our best in Wydad Stadium, we will try our best to win our match.

“It will be historical for them, and for everybody to win it inside Wydad Stadium.”

Al Ahly have promised every Egyptian fan who will make the trip to Morocco a payment of 3 000 EGP (R2 500), in order to get more of their fans into the ground, while CAF confirmed that both clubs have been allocated 10 000 tickets for the final.
