Zwane Reveals His Coaching License

New Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has revealed which coaching licenses he has acquired throughout his career so far.

The 48-year-old was unveiled as the new Amakhosi coach on Thursday and many were wondering, does he have the required badges to be on the sidelines, even in CAF games should Chiefs return to continental competitions under his leadership.

Zwane, however, has eased all worries, he holds a CAF A and a UEFA B license, saying he would’ve gone back to complete his UEFA A license in June but will now not be able to because that will be in the middle of pre-season.

“In 2012, I did my CAF B license, and in 2015 I got my CAF A license,” he told Thabiso Mosia on SAFMSportON.

“Then in 2019, a year before Covid, I went to Ireland and I got my UEFA B license and I was supposed to back but because of Covid, I couldn’t go back.

“I was supposed to go now on the 18th of June, but if we’re gonna look at it, it’s going to clash with pre-season because I was going spend two weeks there, because I was going to complete my UEFA A license, starting obviously the intro of [the UEFA] Pro.

“Unfortunately I can’t go but coach Sheppy will be the one that’s gonna go. For me, I’m going to take care of the team and the new players that are going to come in.

“So I will stay behind and focus on the club right now.”

Zwane and Kaizer Chiefs are expected to announce new signings and player exits, as well as technical team changes during the course of the coming week.
