Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has praised goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune after his side’s penalty shootout win over Stellenbosch FC at Danie Craven Stadium.
Amakhosi had to go into extra-time and penalties in their MTN8 quarter-final against Stellies.
Sihle Nduli had put the home side in front, before Ashley Du Preez equalised for Amakhosi on his homecoming to his former club.
In the end of the day, Khune turned into the hero, saving the last two penalties of the home side on his return to the starting XI for a first time since May 2021.
“Like I said we really want to create competition in our departments,” Zwane said after the match.
