Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni made his debut in the ABC Motsepe League with Peace Makers FC.
The experienced midfielder helped his side claim three points beating Relatives FC and the 33-year-old shared his views after the game with local reporter Siyabonga Gijana.
“Firstly I thank the team for the opportunity. This is my first game, I can see [we got good] results on my first match. This is football, if you take it seriously, it will also take you seriously,” Sangweni told Siya Gijana Soccer Reports.
“I’m happy to see my teammates working hard. There’s a lot we have to learn in football, but so far so good. There’s nothing much I can say, it’s my first game and we won.”
The former Orlando Pirates man was then asked if there was an agreement between him and Chippa United since Peace Makers is the feeder of the Chilli Boys.
“For me, it’s just to stay focused. Then anything else will just happen on its own,” Sangweni added.
“It’s been a while since I last played, that’s why I’m appreciating the chance I’m given. Anything else will come after.
“If it happens it’s fine [and] if [it] doesn’t happen. I will help these young players. Because I would like to see most of them playing in the PSL.”
