Done Deal: Banyana Star Secures New Overseas Move

Banyana Banyana star Linda Motlhalo has secured her next move overseas, iDiski Times has learnt.

Motlhalo left Swedish side Djurgarden after her three-year deal ended last November and had been on the lookout for a new club.

A rumour that suggested Motlhalo was joining Spanish giants FC Barcelona was dismissed by her agent Chris Atkins of World in Motion Agency last year.

It is believed the new club is not in Europe with suggestions that the Randfontein-born WAFCON winner may be returning to the US.

Atkins confirmed to iDiski Times that the move was secured a while ago with the camp now busy with visa issues but ended up short of naming her new club.

“The next step in Linda’s career has been decided for some time already,” he said.

“She has been at home processing her Visa application and will soon travel to join her new team.

“I’m sure she is going to be very happy and in safe hands ahead of this Wold Cup year.”

Scottish side Glasgow City have since confirmed the move for the 24-year-old playmaker until 2025.

“I am excited to announce the signing of Linda Motlhalo here at Glasgow City. Linda arrives with a wealth of experience on her cv from her time in some of the top leagues in the world and her impressive international career with South Africa,” coach Leanne Ross said.

“I have no doubt a player of Linda’s experience and technical ability will enhance our already talented squad, she is an exciting attacking talent who I am very much looking forward to working with.”
