Golden Arrows coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has praised midfielder Ntsako Makhubela not only for his performance against Kaizer Chiefs but overall since his return to the club.
‘Neverdie’ as Makhubela is affectionately known was instrumental in their comeback against Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium this past weekend.
He scored his first league goal since May 2021 in the encounter, while contributing to the other two to help Arrows move to 10th place on the log with 25 points.
Vilakazi says it didn’t take long for the 28-year-old to click with his teammates since his return on loan because he knows the culture of the club.
“Ntsako, this is his fourth game if I’m not mistaken but he has been doing very well. When he came back he only trained a week with us,” he said.
“Because he understands the style of play, he understands the philosophy of the club and the requirements in terms of demands of his position that he is playing. I think he contributed immensely in terms of the third goal. He did very well.
“I know sometimes he is overconfident and loses ball possession but we always check the negatives and the positives.
“If the positives are more than the negatives it’s fine, it’s our responsibility as coaches to motivate him in terms of improvement. But we are happy with his contribution so far.”
