Tactician Kerr On How He Outsmarted Pyramids

Marumo Gallants incumbent coach Dylan Kerr has explained what he said to his players in the dressing during half-time of their 1-1 draw with Pyramids in the CAF Confederations Cup quarter-final first leg in Egypt.

Gallants were close to a famous victory this past Sunday, when they were leading for over half an hour against the Egyptian, but a last-minute penalty denied them a historical win

Kerr feels like they should’ve scored at least five goals after creating so many chances. But he was happy with the results and mentioned that they will have to put Pyramids under pressure in the second leg this coming Sunday.

“We can’t be too confident, not to be over-excited. Think that at home it’s gonna be easy. We still have to fight and show character,” Kerr told iDiski Times

“The first leg we were fantastic, we should’ve won by five if I’m honest and we didn’t unfortunately, but we didn’t lose and we got an away goal.

“But the way we played in the second 45 minutes it was unbelievable against the stronger Egyptian team. We got to make sure we give them the same treatment when they get here for 90 minutes.

“I told them in the dressing room, stop pretending to play football go out and show what we can do. At the back of that you can imagine we haven’t got a chance to prepare for any game.

“In the last 20 days we’ve played six games no preparations on the field, we do video analysis and recovery.”
