Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has named a new Yusuf Maart as new Amakhosi captain in the absence of the injured Sipho Mbule.
Zwane confirmed ahead of the game that Dolly will be sidelined with an injury he picked against Sekhukhune United, when he left the pitch in tears, until the end of the campaign.
With Dolly out injured, and first captain Itumeleng Khune only on the bench, Zwane opted to hand Maart the armband for Thursday’s game against Chippa United.
Maart, who came through Orlando Pirates youth ranks but only made two substitute appearances for the Buccaneers, joined Chiefs from Sekhukhune ahead of the 2022/23 season.
He represented the club 29 times in all competitions and will lead his teammates out the tunnel at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Thursday.
Chiefs need a win to keep their slim hopes of finishing in second place alive, after dropping points against Marumo Gallants in a 1-1 draw and the 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune.
Chippa, meanwhile, have only picked up two points in their last seven DStv Premiership matches, and have won just one games of their last 15 league outings.
