Goodman Mosele has described being reunited with coach Morgan Mammila as “nice” at Chippa United.
The pair worked together at Baroka, winning the Telkom Knockout trophy in the 2018/19 season when they beat Orlando Pirates in the final at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Mosele, who joined Pirates ahead of the 2021/22 season from Baroka, was snapped up by the Chilli Boys on loan until the end of the campaign.
Mammila, after his side drew with Kaizer Chiefs in the first league game of the season, said when the window was opened to sign Mosele he couldn’t blink but jumped at the opportunity because he knew what he was going to get.
Mosele scored the equaliser when he brilliantly turned inside the box and fired as Chippa drew with Pirates, his parent club, this season.
“Being reunited with Morgan, well, we know each other. I know him and he knows me, so it’s really nice,” Mosele told iDiski Times.
However, Mammila, at Baroka was the club’s CEO, with his job solely focused on player signings and admin work to align with the rules and regulations of the PSL, which has left Mosele stunned by his tactical nous.
“I don’t want to lie, I was surprised,” admits Mosele. “Wow, so this guy knows how to coach, and can coach. But he’s a good guy.
“He makes our job easy because we know we are fighting for him as he also fights for us. He’s a good guy, he likes the guys and the guys like him, so everything is good.
“The way he gives everyone freedom, it helps the guys because they know they have a good coach who believes in us.
“Everyone’s job is easy and he’s the one who makes everything easy.”
Chippa, who have won one of the five matches and lie 12th in the DStv Premiership with six points, has since made things uncomfortable for Mammila.
The club appointed former Golden Arrows co-coach Vusi Vilakazi as the Head of Technical Director. And many, looking at how Chippa is run, know what may be next and what this signifies to Mammila’s job.
