Former Orlando Pirates striker Thamsanqa Gabuza has resurfaced at Motsepe Championship side Maritzburg United.
The 36-year-old has been a free agent since leaving TS Galaxy in January after a short spell at The Rockets.
Gabuza spent two seasons at SuperSport United under the leadership of Gavin Hunt, scoring 22 goals and providing seven assists in 118 outings.
Information received by this publication, states that Gabuza resurfaced at the Team of Choice, and the club sees him as a potential striker they can benefit from ahead of the 2024/25 season.
He has been training with United for almost three weeks now, but no deal has been finalised yet.
The KwaZulu-Natal-based side haven’t retained the service of Judas Mosiamedi, which opened a space for Gabuza in that striking role, as coach Simo Dladla is expected to lead them to PSL promotion.
Besides Pirates, he has also turned out for Golden Arrows, SuperSport and Galaxy, as he now returns to KZN for the first time in 11 years.
