TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic has once again caused a smile on onlookers when he suggested that his MTN8 opponent Steve Barker should’ve been named Coach of the Season.
The Rockets qualified for the MTN8 for the first time in the club’s history after finishing in sixth place in 2023/24.
As a consequence, Galaxy will face Barker’s Stellenbosch FC, who finished in third spot, with the game set to kick off at 15:00 at Danie Craven Stadium on Sunday.
Ahead of the contest, Ramovic was full of praise for his counterpart, suggesting Barker should’ve been named Coach of the Season instead of Rulani Mokwena, who walked away with the title before his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.
“It’s a great thing to be also now in the top 8,” he said at the MTN8 launch.

“It’s great to play against a great team. Whenever we played against them it was very tough games and I always said that I like the coach a lot.
“In my view he was the Coach of the Season, it is just my opinion. Because what he did was just amazing.
“It will be a tough one, but also preparing ourselves now and hopefully this time we can win.”
So far, Galaxy have never beaten the Cape Winelands-based side, with Stellenbosch winning nine encounters, and three draws in their 12 previous matches.
