How Chiefs Could Line Up For Nabi Debut

Kaizer Chiefs will finally open their 2024/25 season on Saturday, and here is how Amakhosi could line up in Nasreddine Nabi’s first game.

The Glamour Boys had a long pre-season after missing out on the Top 8 last campaign. As a consequence, their match against Marumo Gallants will be their first official game under new head coach Nabi.

Chiefs, though, did play several pre-season friendlies, with some players impressing the new head coach.

Nabi is expected to hand new goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari a starting XI debut, but the spot among the goalkeepers seems tightly contested.

At the back, Reeve Frosler could start at right-back, while Bradley Cross is expected to start on the other flank, with Rushwin Dortley and Given Msimango the potential centre-back pair at the start of the campaign.

In midfield, Samkelo Zwane impressed in pre-season and is expected to start alongside Yusuf Maart, while Mduduzi Shabalala, who netted a brace against SuperSport United last weekend, could have also earned a starting spot.

On the wings, Ashley Du Preez seems nailed on, while Pule Mmodi could start on the other flank, with Ranga Chivaviro expected to lead the line after netting at least five goals in pre-season.
