Table-toppers Kaizer Chiefs and defending champions Stellenbosch FC are set to battle it out in a blockbuster DStv Diski Challenge tie this weekend, while Orlando Pirates seek a return to winning ways and Mamelodi Sundowns play catch-up.
Matchday six kick-offs between Orlando Pirates and newcomers Magesi FC. The Buccaneers find themselves sitting sixth having collected eight points in five games. Meanwhile, Dikwena Tsa Meetsi have surprised lots of teams. They drew with Stellies before beating Sundowns. Tlou Segolela’s side finds themselves sitting in eighth place with six points after five games.
Cape Town City will return to action this weekend as they take the trip to KwaZulu-Natal to take on Richards Bay. City is the highest-scoring team this season with 17 goals and occupy second spot though they have key players like Xhosa Manyana, Emile Witbooi, Jody Ah Shene, and Shakeel April who are all with the South African U20 for the COSAFA Cup.
The humdinger will be at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday with AmaZulu FC facing Sundowns. Usuthu had a dream start to the season winning two and drawing three and yet to lose a match.
Sundowns on the other hand find themselves in fourth place with nine points out of a possible 15.
The day will be closed with a fixture between Chiefs and Stellies. Amakhosi find themselves sitting at the top of the table after winning four matches out of five. Stellenbosch didn’t have a good start, but they seem to have turned the corner as they’ve won back-to-back matches.
