Former CT Spurs Midfielder Closing In On MFC Move

Former Cape Town Spurs midfielder Thabiso Mpame is closing in on sealing a move to Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Kruger United.

Mpame was part of the Urban Warriors squad that gained promotion to the Betway Premiership after five years of wait but never got the chance to play topflight football as he was released. He then joined Casric Stars on a one-year contract but terminated his contract just six matches into the new campaign.

The 27-year-old helped Stars finish in seventh place in the 2023/24 season even though he mostly featured from the bench.

iDiski Times understands that Mpame is set for a move to United in the not-so distant future as a free agent as United continue to bolster their squad in a bid to preserve their MFC status.

The Mpumalanga-based outfit recently roped in former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Maluleka but also lost head coach Vusi Mkhatshwa has who resigned following a string of poor results.

United sit in 13th place with five points after six matches.

Their next encounter is against struggling Limpopo side Venda Football Club who are yet to register a win this term having lost five of their six matches, drawing one.
