Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids reckons their title aspirations is still well on track despite their 1-0 defeat to arch-rivals Young Africans in the Kariakoo Derby.
Simba had a good start to the NBC Premier League season winning the first three matches without conceding a goal but were halted in their tracks after they gave away a 2-0 lead as the tie against Coastal Union ended in a pulsating 2-2 draw.
That match was then followed by the narrow loss to Yanga which also saw the latter move up the log standings into third spot while Simba dropped to fifth.

The loss against Yanga was Davids’ first of the season and the first match where they failed to score this campaign as Mpia Nzengeli’s 89th minute winner was enough to see Miguel Gamondi’s charges claim the bragging rights.
Davids emphasised that the title chase is not over as yet, they will continue pushing. He also mentioned that the next transfer window will be crucial for them to make sure that they compete for the league title.

“We have to believe the title is not lost now. We will continue,” Davids told Azam TV.
“I think Simba fans have got to know we are doing everything in power to build this team.
“We’ve seen now the level and not the level in terms of quality, but the level in terms of experience. They’ve been through it they’ve played such games, they know how to manage emotions, but we will get better.
“We will get stronger and of course in the window we know we need to strengthen to get stronger to get into the level,” Davids added.
The South African-born tactician and his charges have a chance to bounce back to winning ways when they travel to 12th-placed TZ Prisons SC this afternoon who’ve won just a single match in seven encounters.
