Serero Transfer Update

Former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Thulani Serero is back in South Africa and is set to start training with Cape Town City

Serero, 34, has been plying his trade abroad for over a decade, turning out for the likes of Ajax, Vitesse Arnhem, Al-Jazira, and most recently Khor Fakkan.

Before he left the country, he set the league on fire, winning the PSL Footballer of the Year, PSL Player of the Season, PSL Players’ Player of the Season, and ABSA Premiership Red Hot Young Player in the PSL all in 2011.

‘Cream’ won three Eredivisie titles and the Dutch Super Cup with the Dutch giants, while also featuring in the UEFA Champions League and later on at Al-Jazira he won the UAE Cup and the UAE Supercup.

iDiski Times has it on good authority that the South African international arrived in Mzansi a few days ago and is set to sweat it out at The Citizens under the watchful eye of interim coach Muhsin Ertugral even though there haven’t been formal talks about a potential deal.

The former Bafana Bafana midfielder last played an official match in June last year when he played for Fakkan and has only been training to stay fit since.
