The starting line-ups for today’s Nedbank Cup Last 16 clash between Orlando Pirates and Baroka FC at Orlando Stadium have been announced.
The Buccaneers aim to defend their Nedbank Cup trophy but they will have to go past Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka FC. Pirates have won this trophy for two years in a row and aim to make three this season.
They have already eliminated Richards Bay, beating them 3-1 away from home, and now face a familiar side in Baroka, who they know very well despite playing in the second division.
Meanwhile, the MFC side made their name through this competition when they beat the mighty Kaizer Chiefs in 2011 when they were still playing in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League.
Bakgakga are still finding their way to get back to top flight football but a win against Pirates would give them a moral boost for the remainder of the season.
Nine of the two side’s 13 meetings have ended in a draw, while Pirates won three and Baroka just one.
