Muhsin Ertugral all but confirmed Thulani Serero’s imminent arrival at Cape Town City, but he will likely only be available when City play AmaZulu in early March if he does sign.
City suffered a 2-0 defeat to Chippa United at Athlone Stadium on Tuesday which suggests Serero could be a solution to aid City’s inconsistent form of late.
Ertugral said that Serero, who has been training at City for the past few weeks, is heading back to the UAE to sort out a few things and will then return with his family in the next week.
While he won’t be available for City’s next game away against Orlando Pirates, Ertugral said that he could be available for the game against Usuthu.
“He’s going back to Emirates, quick as possible but ja, he is a solution for us, definitely, but not against Pirates,” Ertugral said.

“So, he needs to get his family sorted out, bring them back. Then probably, he’s going to Emirates tomorrow and come back on the weekend, and then obviously the next game against AmaZulu, probably ready.”
Serero and the club are expected to continue negotiations when he returns, with Ertugral hoping that Serero and club management can find common ground.
