Both Teams Lacked Quality – Khanye

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye was not impressed with his former side and Magesi FC in their Betway Premiership match at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Ashley Du Preez came off the bench in the second half to score the only goal and save Amakhosi’s blushes after a poor opening half.

The former South African junior international believes Chiefs won’t get away with playing the way they did on Tuesday against other opponents while adding that he sees Magesi not surviving.

The iDiski TV analyst slammed the lack of quality from both sets of players bemoaning the number of chances created while he thought the Limpopo side didn’t even have a plan but to play for a draw.

“In this game the difference was the goal,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.

“I think the goal was very good. We give credit where it’s due, the goal I think was created from a square pass of [Glody] Lilepo. Good pass good finish from [Ashley] Du Preez so yes, it’s only the goal I will compliment. Other than that, I think technically the game was bad, the movement of the ball, the awareness there was no urgency from both teams.

“They didn’t play well but they were very aggressive against [Mamelodi] Sundowns and also played on high tempo but coming up against Magesi at home this way, for me even Owen Da Gama’s team was very poor. I mean how many times did they lose the ball?

“They didn’t deserve anything from this game. Chiefs didn’t play well either, but they deserved to win the game because they created at least two, three chances. But other than that, Magesi deserved nothing.”
