Khanye Credits Pirates & Downs For Bafana Win

iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has given Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns plaudits for Bafana Bafana‘s impressive form that has seen them go 18 matches unbeaten.

South Africa picked up back-to-back 2-0 wins against Lesotho and Benin in a space of a week to move five points clear at the summit of Group C in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with 13 points.

Hugo Broos’ charges only managed to break the deadlock in the second period courtesy of strikes from Lyle Foster and Jayden Adams, with Khanye of the opinion that the Buccaneers and Masandawana should be given the credit because the Belgian tactician is now able to understand his players compared to when he first arrived in Mzansi.

“When Hugo Broos came to South Africa, he was not playing this way. His philosophy was not this way,” Khanye said in his discussion with Nkululeko ‘My Brother’ Nkewu on iDiski TV.

“He has learnt. Thanks to Orlando Pirates they have helped him bringing [Nkosinathi] Sibisi. Taking the best out of Sibisi. Also the boy [Relebohile] Mofokeng, [Thalente] Mbatha, Patrick [Maswanganyi].

“Thanks to Sundowns as well. Both Pirates and Sundowns I think they’ve helped the coach to achieve his goal.

“Both teams have helped the coach in the understanding of the players.”
