Former Cape Town City forward Khanyisa Mayo scored the winner as Sead Ramovic’s CR Belouizdad progressed to the Algerian Cup semi-final.
Belouizdad beat MO Bejaia 1-0, with Mayo scoring the only goal of the match after 55 minutes. The win saw Ramovic’s men book their spot in the Coupe Nationale semi-finals.
Ramovic has now won five of his nine games in charge, drawing three, losing just one, with one of the draws being followed by a penalty shootout defeat the Super Cup final.
In the league Belouizdad sit seven points behind MC Alger, who will face Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League quarer-finals and are leading Ligue Professionnelle with just one defeat in 20 games.
Mayo has now scored six goals in 30 appearances for the Algerian giants.
