Nabi Responds If Duba Can Be Chiefs’ Main Striker

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is adamant that striker Wandile Duba can be a solution as a first or second striker next season though he admitted the youngster still needs to work on his mental sharpness.

Duba put in a Man of the Match performance scoring Chiefs’ equalizer before Amakhosi stunned Mamelodi Sundowns through Ashley Du Preez’s 89th minute to seal progression the Nedbank Cup final where they will take on fiercest rivals Orlando Pirates.

The Tunisian mentor was full of praise for the youngster on his physical and technical qualities but would equally like to see him bring his mental side into play as well.

“Regarding Duba, I think he have a lot of qualities, physical quality, technical quality,” Nabi told iDiski in his post-match presser after their cup final progression.

“The only problem that we work every time with Duba is Duba has mental problem. You know younger players when he start to play and with a lot of fans like Kaizer Chiefs, fans is always he’s not 100% ready mentally.

“So, for that we try to work through in that. Last season I think he have a lot of progression to make, and he can make it, if, why not? If he give us solution as a first or second striker next season.”
