The Premier Soccer League have announced the monthly awards winners for April, with Sekhukhune United lifting two gongs and one going to Kaizer Chiefs.
Babina Noko went unbeaten through April, winning three of their games and drawing two under Eric Tinkler.
As a consequence, the former Cape Town City coach walked away with the Coach of the Month award.
Sekhukhune United midfielder, Keletso Makgalwa earned the Player of the Month accolade following a series of standout performances in April. Makgalwa was featured in three out of four matches, contributing significantly to the team’s attacking prowess, including scoring a crucial goal and providing an assist. His dynamic play and creativity were instrumental in Sekhukhune’s unbeaten run during the month.
Makgalwa edged out strong competition from his teammate, goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner, who kept two clean sheets, and Stellenbosch FC midfielder, Sanele Barns who also put up an impressive performance in April.
Tinkler orchestrated impressive victories over Cape Town City (2-1), Polokwane City (2-0), and Orlando Pirates (1-0), as well as a hard-fought 1-1 stalemate against TS Galaxy. These results propelled Ba Bina Noko into the top three bracket of the Betway Premiership.”
Meanwhile, Keletso Makgalwa was named Player of the Month after playing a crucial role in Sekhukhune’s run and taking his assists tally to 11 this season – more than any other player.
Finally, Chiefs forward Glody Lilepo has received his first award after his solo goal against Marumo Gallants was voted the Goal of the Month.
