Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids and his charges suffered another defeat in search of silverware after a heavy 3-1 loss to Singida Black Stars in the semifinals of the CRDB Bank Federation Cup on Saturday afternoon.
This defeat comes barely a week after the Tanzanian giants lost to RS Berkane in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Despite both setbacks, the South African tactician still has a shot at the NBC Premier League title as they currently sit one point behind rivals Yanga SC after the same number of games (27).
The home side trailed 2-0 at halftime and pulled a goal back in the second half through Jean Ahoua but Stars proved too strong for the CAF Confed Cup runners-up as they scored a late goal to all but seal passage to the final.
Rivals Yanga SC and Stars will contest the final after the former saw off JKT Tanzania 2-0 in the other semifinal clash.
