AmaZulu FC have decided against renewing the contracts of veteran defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele and striker Augustine Mulenga.

This publication established that Usuthu opted against renewing the contracts of the former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates players as their deals at the end of June. The KwaZulu-Natal-based side are believed to have had a review of the previous season before making their decision.

Mphahlele, 35, made 17 appearances this past season and had one assist while the Zambian Mulenga, who is also 35, featured just twice the entire campaign which prompted Usuthu to make the easier decision.

A lot more players are expected to leave AmaZulu in the coming days as they are planning for the upcoming season and will compete in four competitions.
