Orlando Pirates have decided to promote young winger Neo Mokoena to the senior team ahead of the 2025/26 season.
This publication has been reliably informed that Pirates are set to hand the youngster a first-team contract after a successful DStv Diski Challenge season under Joseph Makhanya.
Mokoena, 22, trained with the senior side towards the end of last season and the Buccaneers saw his potential and were keen for him to sign a senior contract.
The speedy winger is known for his unique skills and pace, and he also has goals in his game. He is expected to play a role in the Pirates’ tight schedule for the 2025/26 season.
Mokwena joins the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng, Mohau Nkota, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, and Siphiwe Silepe who came through the club’s youth ranks into the first team.
