Orlando Pirates attacking duo Relebohile Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis seem to be gelling already after they both starred in their 1-1 draw against Pafos FC.
Already being dubbed the ‘terrible twins’, Mofokeng and Appollis combined well together as the Buccaneers rallied from a goal down to hold the Cyprus Champions.
Speaking to analysts Thomas Mlambo and Phumudzo Manenzhe, the two players, who are also teammates in the Bafana Bafana squad dissected their execution.
“Eish! Composure,” Mofokeng told SuperSport TV.
“I was thinking of passing but then I saw him reading it then I took a touch in front of him [defender] and if he touches me, it’s a penalty. So, yeah.
“Perfect pass. I think he made it easy for me to put it on the ground. I think it was a better touch from me, so.”
Appollis, who looked very promising in the Pirates attack and saw out the entire match, described how he was able to make the pass to Mofokeng easy.
“I saw Rele already moving, then I saw the space between the centre-back and the left-back, so it was gonna be difficult if I hit it in the sky,” he said.
“So, I had to hit it through in-between the centre-back and the left-back.
“And it was a good touch of Rele to take it in front of him because if he touches Rele it’s a penalty.”
