Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has explained why Peter Shalulile has returned to the bench, and given a brief update on Khuliso Mudau.
Shalulile has been linked with a move to North Africa, with ES Tunis keen on his services. However, he has returned to the squad for Saturday’s Betway Premiership opener against Chippa United.
Cardoso insisted there is too much noise around his players, who belong to the club until they are officially released.
“I think that people are talking too much regarding Mamelodi Sundowns players,” he told SuperSport TV.
“Peter is with us, heart and soul. That’s what everybody, especially Mamelodi Sundowns need to understand. So why not bring a player that is heart and soul with us.
“Peter is a player who is always ready to play, always ready to perform and fitness unbelievable. So we believe in him like we believe in the other ones that are in the squad.”
Meanwhile, Mudau has been absent from the squad but Cardoso says he’s hopeful the right-back will soon return.
“I believe Mudau pretty soon will also be with us, let’s hope so,” he added.
