Latest Kaizer Chiefs signing Luke Baartman has been given a historical shirt number at the club.
Baartman, 19, joined Amakhosi after being declared a free agent by the Premier Soccer league Dispute Resolution Chamber.
The product of Cape Town Spurs took his former club to the DRC after Spurs got relegated to the ABC Motsepe League, which is regarded as amateur according to the latest ruling.
Baartman – similar to his old and new teammate Asanele Velebayi – were both declared free agents and immediately joined Chiefs even though Spurs are contesting the rulings via abitration.
In the meantime, Chiefs have unveiled their new players to their home crowd during half-time of their 1-0 win over Polokwane City.
After Baartman was initially unveiled without shirt number, the club confirmed on Thursday he will wear the number 11 shirt.
The number was last worn by Tebogo Potsane and Khama Billiat, but probably most famous Knowledge Musona’s stint at Naturena, while Chiefs legend Jabu Pule also donned the 11 at the club.
