Chippa SD Issues Apology To Club’s Fans

Chippa United Sporting Director Sinesipho Mali has taken time to apologize to the club’s supporters after a disastrous start to the season that sees them rooted at the foot of the Betway Premiership.

The Chilli Boys are yet to register in the new campaign after picking up a 1-1 draw in their opening league match against Mamelodi Sundowns during Sinethemba Badela’s brief tenure but have since lost three games on the trot.

Badela left the club after their 1-0 defeat against Durban City after squabbles between him and Mali and things became worse for the Eastern Cape-based side as they got hammered 4-1 by TS Galaxy, lost 1-0 to Richards Bay, before a thumping 3-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates on Sunday.

Speaking on Umhlobo Wenene FM, Mali apologized to the club’s supporters for the poor performances and also promised that they would turn things around with Luc Eymael at the helm. The Bafana Bafana analyst also pleaded with the supporters to get behind them in these difficult times.

“The way we started the season is not the way we would like, and it is not ideal for Chippa United,” he said.

“I believe our supporters deserve better than what they are witnessing because they’ve been supporting us from match day one until today.

“They fill up the stadiums, first and foremost as the sporting director, we owe them an apology, we need to apologize for the performances that we’ve given them which is not what they deserve, and this is definitely not what Chippa United stands for but what I assure them is that things will turn very soon.

“We brought a coach who is experienced who has been in such a situation, a man that have a good track record.”
