Former Mamelodi Sundowns duo Neo Maema and Rushine De Reuck were officially unveiled in front of a sold-out 60 000 crowd at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium during Simba Day 2025.
The “Simba Day” is the traditional curtain raiser of Fadlu Davids’ side, where the club introduces new players and the whole squad to their fans.
On Wednesday, Maema and De Reuck were part of the squad that was introduced in front of 60 000 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Both players also started in the 2-0 win for Davids’ side over Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.
Simba finished runners-up in the Tanzanian Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup in Davids first season at the club.
Davids assembled a strong technical team at Simba, which includes several South Africans such as Darian Wilken as assistant coach, Wayne Sandilands as Goalkeeper Coach, Mueez Kajee as analyst, and Riedoh Berdien as Strength & Conditioning Coach as well as Durrel Butler as Strength and Conditioning coaches.
