Mamelodi Sundowns‘ submitted loan offer for Matheus Leonardo Sales Cardoso commonly known as Matheusinho, has been rejected.
Brazilian publication NE45 reports that Sundowns submitted an offer of 1.5 million euros (about $9.5 million) (R30million) for Matheusinho who is currently on loan at Sport Recife in the Brasileiro Serie A but belongs to Portuguese side Santa Clara.

Recife didn’t entertain the offer as they are not ready to release the player after they had only signed him in July on loan with an obligation to buy. The loan stay for Matheusinho at Recife is until June 2026. Should he do well, and Recife decides to trigger the buy option, they will have to pay an amount of 1 million euros (approximately $6.3 million) [R20million].
The 27-year-old has featured in eight games in the colours of Recife, scored one goal, and provided two assists. The Pernambuco club believes that Matheusinho could play a huge role in their relegation fight after winning one game in 20 and are currently sitting bottom of the table with 10 points.
